Your Social Media Success Depends on What You Post
Social media success isn’t about posting more — it’s about posting with purpose.
Every post you share is either helping the right person recognise themselves in your content… or quietly confusing the algorithm (and your audience). What you post, how you say it, and who you’re speaking to all matter more than ever.
Let’s break down the three foundations that actually move the needle:
- speaking directly to your ideal client
- using clear calls to action (CTAs)
- choosing the right keywords so platforms (and Google) understand your content
No filler posts or fluff!
Talk to One Person — Not Everyone
The biggest mistake I see? Content written for everyone.
When you try to speak to everyone, your message lands with no one.
Instead, imagine one real person reading your post. One ideal client.
- What are they struggling with?
- What are they Googling at 10pm?
- What would make them think, “This is exactly what I need”?
When you write as if you’re talking to a real human — not an audience — your content becomes: ❥ clearer ❥ more relatable ❥ more engaging
And here’s the bonus: the algorithm loves this too. Content that gets saves, shares, comments and watch time is a signal that it’s relevant — so it gets shown to more of the right people.
Your Audience Needs to Be Told What to Do Next
You might think it’s obvious… but it isn’t.
If you don’t tell people what to do after reading your post, most will do nothing — even if they love it.
A strong CTA (call to action) gives your content direction.
Examples: ❥ Save this for later ❥ Comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send you the link ❥ DM me the word MANAGE ❥ Click the link in my bio to book
CTAs:
- increase engagement
- guide your audience
- create conversations
- turn views into enquiries
No CTA = missed opportunity.
Keywords: How the Algorithm (and Google) Understand Your Content
Social platforms don’t watch your content the way humans do — they read it.
Keywords help Instagram (and Google) understand:
- what your content is about
- who it should be shown to
- where it should appear in search results
This includes: ❥ words you say on camera ❥ text on screen ❥ captions ❥ hashtags ❥ profile bio and name
For example, saying and writing “Instagram manager for beauty businesses” tells the algorithm far more than something vague like “social media tips”.
Clear keywords = better visibility + the right audience finding you.
And yes — this also supports Google ranking. Social posts can show up in search, especially when your wording is consistent across your website, captions, and profile.
Visibility Comes From Clarity
When your content is: ❥ written for one ideal client ❥ clear on what action to take ❥ supported by the right keywords
…it becomes easier for both humans and algorithms to understand.
That’s how your content gets shown to the right people — not just more people.
You don’t need to do more. You need content with intention, structure, and clarity.
If you want support creating content that actually attracts clients (without keeping up with constant platform changes), this is exactly what I help with.
Let’s make your content work harder for you.
Speak to your audience
You know your audience better than anyone else, so keep them in mind as you write your posts. Write about things they care about. Solve their problems and make their life easier.
Take a few moments to plan your post
Set aside time to plan. Once you have a great idea for a post, write the first draft, you can save ideas in your phone notes or in a word doc. Some people like to start people like to start with talking about the images and go from there. Choose the method that works for you. Other like to add a quote, meme or witty one liner. As Instagram is a visual platform, it's your images/reel that needs to grab their attention to make them want to read your caption.
It's great have 3 visually planned.
Use high quality
images
Be sure to include a few high-quality images in your blog. Images break up the text and make it more readable. They can also convey emotions or ideas that are hard to put into words.
Edit carefully before posting
Once you’re happy with the text for your caption, put it aside for a day or two, and then re-read it. You’ll probably find a few things you want to add and a couple more that you want to remove. Have a friend or colleague look it over to make sure there are no mistakes. When your post is error-free, set it up in your blog and publish. You can use a great free app call GRAMMERLY to help or use AI technology.
Use a Scheduler
If you want to stay consistent, use a scheduling tool to ensure your post go out as a similar time each day. Check your insights to see when your audience as online.
Lack ideas
