STORY TELLING IN 2026
Why You’re Stalling (And No, It’s Not the Algorithm)
If your growth feels like it’s stuck in neutral, I’m going to tell you exactly what’s happening.
1. You Picked a Niche, But You Forgot the Human
You’re so obsessed with "defining your niche" that you’ve turned your audience into a spreadsheet. Darling, you don’t need a category; you need a person.
If you want to land the client, you have to know what keeps them up at 2 AM. Are they struggling with their bottom line or their confidence? Where are they on their journey when they stumble onto your page? If your content is vague, it’s invisible. And I’m many things, but invisible isn't one of them.
2. Your Vibe is... "Identity Crisis"
Consistency isn't just a buzzword; it’s a standard. If your feed looks like a junk drawer, people won’t stay. They want to walk into a room, your room and know exactly what the mood is.
You don’t need a million-dollar rebrand. You just need to pick a lane. Use colors that actually speak to people, fonts that don't hurt the eyes, and a style that says, "I have my life together." Even if you don't, your content should look like you do.
3. You’re Chasing Trends, Not Connections
I see it all the time: people dancing to trending sounds hoping for a miracle. Views are vanity; connection is currency.
If you’re posting POVs with no context, people might watch, but they aren’t going to remember your name. You want them to stick around? Give them a reason to trust you.
Trends get you through the door, but your personality is what keeps you in the room and makes the lasting impression.
4. Stop Lecturing and Start Delivering
Big ideas are great for a TED Talk, but your audience wants a win now.
If you can give someone a tool they can use before they finish their morning coffee, you’ve won. A quick win builds quick trust. And in 2026, trust is the only thing that’s going to keep you in business.
The Donna Directive: If you’re doubling down on anything this year, make it Storytelling.
When you learn how to tell a story, you don't just sell, you captivate.
